Golden Reel Award 2005
For his work on "House of Flying Daggers" with his colleagues from Soundfirm, Melbourne, Vic Kaspar received a Golden Reel award in Los Angeles earlier this year for the Best Sound in a Foreign Feature Film.
Music Industry News 2003
Vic Kaspar has recently returned from Los Angeles where he designed and constructed a recording facility for MIG Records. During his stay, he also recorded some tracks with up and coming Liverpool band "Chione". He is now back and producing music tracks and a video clip for local R'n'B outfit "Loko".
Scooby Doo 2 (Warner Brothers) 2003
Our regular loop group artist Neil Fanning is back as the voice of Scooby in the upcoming Warner Brothers feature film "Scooby Doo 2". ADR recording is once again being done at DSV!
Peter Pan (Revolution) 2003
DSV worked closely with composer Eddie Arkin recording music tracks for the film during the shooting process. After the shoot, DSV provided sound editorial and temp mixing for the Director's Cut.
Inspector Gadget 2 (Walt Disney Pictures) 2002
Inspector Gadget 2 premiered in Brisbane in September 2003. Complete sound post production was done at DSV.
Movie World Theme Park - December 2001
The new "Batman" ride and the new "Maverick" show at Warner Brothers Movie World are using new non-linear digital video machines, incorporating the same MPEG2 video technology used in DVD systems. The video was accompanied by sound design, editing and mixing done at DSV, and then encoded and transfered onto the digital video machines for use on site.

M & K Professional - First in Australia
DSV were the first in Australia to install the complete Multichannel Pro Solutions (MPS) 5.1 discrete surround monitoring system from Miller & Kriesel Sound Corp. (M&K) (as used by Lucasfilms, Sony Pictures, Dolby Digital Laboratories, Warner Bros, etc.).
The THX cetified MPX system includes three MPS-150 Main Monitors for the front left, centre and right channels, two MPS-150 Tripole Surround Speakers and a MPS-350 Active Subwoofer. The system has been installed in DSV's Digital Mixing Suite as the reference monitoring for mixing and mastering in standard stereo and 5.1 digital surround.
